Recently, mostly every porn blog on the Internet has been talking about "HIV", "condom usage", "bareback sex" and "legislature" all in light of the recent HIV scare the porn industry has been hit with. As a porn blogger, I watch a lot of different scenes, I talk to a bunch of different models and what I get is that most of them do bareback porn. PERSONALLY, I am AGAINST BAREBACK SEX but to each his own really. At the end of the day I am not going to put my self at risk for 20 minutes of some dick; I refuse. Nor would I ever do bareback sex, I don't care that the studio might pay you 50 dollars extra to do a scene because at the end of the day your saying your life is worth 50 dollars. Most of the models that you see having Bareback sex are 9 out of 10 times having that off camera. Now whose to say that they are doing the responsible thing and getting tested regularly or making sure they're partners are tested regularly? So once again you are taking a chance with your life. I feel like its a moral responisbility as porn directors to make sure they're models are tested. For instance, there is a urban black gay porn studio that I know for a fact let an HIV POSITIVE MODEL HAVE RAW SEX WITH THEIR MODELS. ( NO NAMES) I know who the model is and I know who the company is and I find that to be highly disgusting. At the end of the day, that model lied about their HIV status because they know if they said they were positive, the studio wouldn't agree to willingly infected another models. ( I don't think they would..now days you just don't know). What I find baffling is the studio didn't make sure test results were up to date. Eventhough, HIV has a 3 to 6 month window, still make sure test results are up to date; it not only shows that the model is being cautious about their health but it says that as a studio director you are being responsibile.
In Los Angeles CA., The lastes move is by the Los Angeles City Council to drive adult production companies out of business or out of the state all together. Micheal Weinstein of the Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF) has beeing pushing finally lobbied to get four L.A.City Council memebers to support a motion to deny filiming permits to gya and heterosexual adult film studios unles the permits contain special conditions; requiring condoms, dental dams, face shields and googles for all sex acts perform in adult films according to JRL charts online. Now if you know anything about straight porn, you hardly see a condom on set. EVERYTHING IS BAREBACK IN HETEROSEXUAL PORN, that is because they are required to be tested regularly by AIM. Now gay porn studios aren't required to be tested so they offer condoms. That is why gay porn has two separate categories: bareback and condom. Now California leads the porn market and often dictates how the other studios market their material, so we might have to say to say GOODBYE TO BAREBACK SEX. That means alot of studio's are going to out of buisiness and quite frankly, It wouldn't bother me.
What is your opinion?

HIV Infected Gay/Str8 Porn Star Identifed
Patient Zero, was the porn performer who tested positive for HIV and suspended the porn industry is speaking out. Derrick Burts, whose alias included Derek Chambers ( straight porn) and Cameron Reid ( gay porn) was tested by AIM: The Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation and was found to test positive. In the straight porn industry, performers are mandated to be test by AIM, but Gay porn performers aren't required to get tested; they are just advised to get tested. I find that to be highly irresponsible, why doesn't the Gay porn industry have a mandatory testing place for our models as well. AIM admits, " Burts contracted the virus from personal activity because the professional partners all test Negative" but Burts contests, saying he only had sex with on person in his private life ; his girlfriend. He believes he contracted HIV during a gay porn shoot in Florida, when a performer ejaculated on his back and semen leaked into his anus. Burts also explains that he recieved conflicting reports on how contracted the HIV because he says "October 23, AIM confirmed that I did a shoot with a CONFIRMED positive performer; that "I DIDNT GET IT" through my personal life. So whose at fault? Burt, or the directors? I think both are because they both should be held accountable for their actions. I feel like its your responsibility as a model to know your risk and speak for what you know is right. For example, if you want to do bareback, why not demand test results from the other model. SIMPLE and if the results come back NEGATIVE ...DON'T DO IT! SIMPLE. And I feel like eventhough the Director isn't pulling you by a string to the do the bareback scene ( because bareback makes more money) still it's a moral responsiblity to make sure your models aren't infecting each other. Bareback is really tricky because you have a 3 to 6 month grace /waiting period because the "antibodies" do show themselves so in that window you have no idea that your infecting people. So granted that is understandable but my thing if you do bareback just make sure you know the risk, before you complain about it afterwards. The funny thing is there is a lack of condoms in porn period!. Gay porn does not require testing...isn't that a shame. It's just another excuse for people to call HIV/AIDS the "GAY CANCER" and I think that is sad. Since gay porn doesn't require testing it says uses condoms. But you can't use condoms because Bareback sells more. so my question to you is......
WHAT DO YOU DO?

Gay Porn Studio fined $21K over bareback scenes
California's Division of Occupational Safety and Health ( OSHA) has fined gay porn studio " Treasure Island Media" for workplace safety violations that has exposed employees to " semen and other potentially infectious materials". Treasure Island Media is a popular and yet controversial studio based in San Francisco known for it's "bareback porn". Titles such as " Sperm Assualt", "Breeding Season" and even their eithic themed bareback titles " Bruthaload" and "Latinload". The studio has also SIGNED OPENLY HIV POSITIVE PERFORMER JAMES ROSCOE and has performed scenes with other HIV positibe performers.
According to XBIZ the studio is appealing all 3 of their citations totaling $ 21,470 in penalities. Employees were exposed to semen and other potentially infectious materials due to work activites during filming and set cleaning. Treasure Island Media did not observe universal precautions during the productions of their films. They did not instuite precautions to minimize contact with blood and semen, like the use of barrier protections( i.e. condoms). CAL/OSHA stated that THE STUDIO WAS NOT CITED FOR EMPLOYING HIV POSITIVE PERFORMERS. I think that's retarted because if your going to employ HIV postive performers then the studio should have implented barrier protection...SIMPLE!. When you own a studio it is the director's job to make sure that all of their model's paperwork is up to date and accurate. Now if your going to sign performers like James Roscoe and have them performer bareback scenes then you should get fined if your exposing your HIV negative performers to infectious material.
According to CAL/OSHA engineer Deborah Gold " Anybody may be infected, therfore you have to treat everyone's blood and other potential infectious materials ( such as semen) as though it can be infectious". This fine isn't coming as a shock because California lawmakers and CAL/OSHA have been considering mandating condom use in Straight and Gay Porn and additional testing for porn performers, because in the summer of 2009 at least 16 additional unpublicized cases of HIV have been confirmed in gay and straight adult film performers. Recently in Oct/Nov 2010 production was halted on several studios AGAIN! after a " GAY FOR PAY" porn actor..( Lets call him ACTOR X ) who performed in both straight and gay adult videos tested positive for HIV. ( Remember with Austin Wilde left Raging Stallion Studios..well that was the reason he told the Naked Sword..so someone isn't doing their job and making sure these models are accurate with their test results. GET ON THE BALL AND DO YOUR FUCKING JOB. )The actor reportedly did not transmit the virus to any other professional or personal sex partners. So that makes it okay? I think not, why the hell do society feel like its okay to put their models at risk because of a dollar sign. So because it pays more to do bareback .. we do it! And because bareback sells more, directors produce it. So it doesn't really matter that we are putting ourselves at risk as well as fueling the ignorant mind of highly religious folks and narrow mind people who already feel like HIV is a gay disease. IT'S TIME TO WAKE THE FUCK UP.

DL : Down-Low
Down Low
An African American slang term, which refers to a subculture of men who usually identify as heterosexual, but who have sex with men, some avoid sharing this information even if they have female sexual partner(s).
This term is also used to refer to a related sexual identity.
The term originated in the African American community, and was originally used to describe " any kind of slick. secretive behavoir, including infidelity in heterosexual relationships"
"The high prevalence of HIV in the black community and the greater likelihood of bisexuality among black men place heterosexual black women at risk for HIV infection. However, the contribution of high risk heterosexual black men to the rising HIV caseload among black women has been largely ignored. Future research must evaluate the relative contributions of bisexual men and exclusively heterosexual black men to HIV cases among black women"
The term became eroticized within Black and Latino homosexual communities. Throughout the Black-Gay porn industry and internet networks, "down-low" quickly became a marketing term used to publicize pornographic movies, models, sex-clubs and social gatherings.
