I recently, got the opportunity to interview ReDICKulous and yes this is the dude that Phaedra was talking about on the episode of RHOA. Now you know me being Dunkin I had to go out and find who he was. Redickulous is an international male exotic entertainer in Atlanta Georgia. He has danced all across the United States, England, France , Canada and The Bahamas just to name a few. I personally, haven't had the opportunity to see him perform but I know people who have and they can tell you that he is one hell of a person to watch. Just looking at his pictures make me wonder just how RedDICKulous he really is. He has appeared on the cover of FlavaLife Magazine, numerous websites, blogs and has appeared in many clubs in some of the major cities for promotional events or private engagements. He is one of those well versed entertainers that still leave a bit of mystery. Hopefully with this interview you get to know him a bit more.
Dunkin: Who is "ReDICKulous"?
Redickulous: I am a male exotic entertainer/dancer. Although, I am an independent dancer, I am closely affiliated with Naughty Boi Inc; a male exotic entertainment group based out of Houston. I started dancing in June of 2004 after auditioning in a local club in my hometown of Augusta, Georgia. I am very passionate about my craft, dedicated to not only entertaining but networking, promoting, assisting, educating and learning anything that would continue making "ReDICKulous" a success.
Dunkin: Who is the man behind the brand?
Redickulous: "ReDICKulous" is the image I created for the stage. It's not who I am off of stage because many people tell me I am a totally different person and thats the look I go for. When I am not in the clubs performing I am at home chilling or working at my 9 to 5. One thing a person can never take from you is your education, so if I don't know something I always Google it and I'm constantly teaching myself something new everyday.
Dunkin: Why choose the stage name "ReDICKulous"?
Redickulous: Well "Infamous" was the chosen stage name but after only auditioning under that name, my first and only manager quickly demanded that a name change must take effect before I get on stage in Atlanta. So he along with the female MC both agreed that I should be called "Rediculous". I didn't agree with it at first, but then a misspelling the roster took notice when in turn became "Re-DICK-u-lous" and I thought I should drop the hyphen and just be known as " ReDICKulous" because the other name was incredibly long.
Dunkin: I know people see you as a sex symbol, but were you always comfortable with yourself growing up?
Redickulous: I am and always have been an outgoing person. I love being apart of organizations where I can showcase my abilities through my popularity. Yes, when I began dancing I was insecure because the dancer who I sought information from always use to let me know I was skinny, but I was determined to work my way up; making those who I was an opening act for now become my opening act.
Dunkin: Why become an exotic dancer? Was it for the money?
Redickulous: LOL of course not because the money wasn't great starting off, dancing was just something I liked doing. Entertaining , traveling and dancing was a combination I liked doing and this was a great opportunity to do all three and I love doing it.
Dunkin: You've received a lot of success being an exotic dancer, do you think if you didn't have a big dick you'd as successful?
Redickulous: Hell No!! ( LOL ) I mean don't get me wrong it may have helped but I know plenty of dancers who have big dicks, a lot of ass and off the chain bodies but they can't perform worth of damn. I'm fortunate to have that quality of being abnormally big between the legs but I work hard and I have ensure that I am capable to able to entertain from the beginning to the end of my show.
Dunkin: Speaking of size, how big are you below the belt?
Rekdickulous: Now you making me shy, but 11.5 last time I checked.
Dunkin: How did you get started with NaughtyBoi Inc?
Redickulous: Well, while I promote myself as an independent entertainer, I am a founding member of Naughty Boi Inc and since 200 I have served as the president working closely with and becoming a friend to the CEO; Colen Skinner. I have to say " MUCH LOVE" for such a great person.
Dunkin: how did it feel when you won the first ever BOEA ( Blatino Oasis Erotic Awards) award for "Best Male Erotic Stripper"?
Redickulous: When I was asked to perform back in 2007 I was excited to take my show to other parts of the west coast other than L.A. Although, I had won numerous awards before, I was so shocked to be requested to perform again and receive the award in 2008. However, in the fall of 2008 I was again honored as becoming the first ever Mr.Exotic Dancer Universe Emeritus, selected as an honoree at Mr. Exotic Dancer Competition and honored at the NYC Strip Search Awards, but it also caused me to be denied the opportunity to compete with the World Exotic Championship organization. To this day they never told me why they overlooked me and never invited me, although I won 9 awards; two of which included the People's Choice Award both years and 1st Runner Up Overall my second year, but there is no bad blood here I am just thankful I got to participate.
Dunkin: You've been featured in TD Faison's autobiography " 12.6: A blessing or a curse" how did that come about?
Redickulous: Well TD Faison was a former exotic dancer before becoming an author and when he was writing the book, I would always ask how was it coming along and then he asked me if I wanted to be apart of his "tell all" and I was more than happy to.
Dunkin: Would you consider yourself to be gay,bi, straight or the equal opportunity lover?
Redickulous: LOL I see we don't old back from anything huh? Well I don't put myself in a category because I was once married for 7 years from December 1998 until November 2005.
Dunkin: How does it feel when people look down on you for being an exotic dancer, since society feels exotic dancers are easy and uneducated?
Redickulous: Well, it makes my dick hard actually when I prove so many people wrong. I am far from ignorant and will quickly defend the exotic dancing industry; it is work just like any other job. After defending the industry, I tell them I am South Carolina Sate University "bulldog" with a degree in Political Science/Public Administration. For the record I work a full time job from Monday to Friday and it's CORPORATE! But to answer my question I use my popularity to assist with changing our name from strippers to be professionally identified as Exotic Dancer/Entertainer, making our way from the back room of clubs to now performing on the mainstream stage with other entertainers. I constantly do positive things that will help change the image of what was once looked at negatively viewed by society. It's an art and it's more than just getting on a stage and taking your clothes off.
Dunkin: If you weren't an exotic dancer , what would you be?
Redickulous: Well when I graduated from high school in 1998 I joined the US Army then transferred to the Georgia National Guard in 2002 to attend school. Exotic Dancing is what I am known for doing, but like I said earlier that's not my own job. I'm a career man but where I work I will keep that a secret. LOL.
Dunkin: When you first started dancing did you think you would have such a huge fan base? ( Phaedra from the Real Housewives of Atlanta as well as others did mention you LOL )
Redickulous: Listen, I wouldn't have never imagine me getting as popular as I am from stripping. I was just a shocked as everyone else when I was on the couch and she started mentioning me. A minute later I received at least 200 texts, emails, tweets, instant messages and calls that night. Not to mention my mom and dad even say your famous for doing what; don't get me wrong they have supported me in everything I do. Shout out to my parents...wishing you a HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY.
Dunkin: Can you really give yourself head? If so, how long have you been able to do that?
Redickulous: You're starting to make me blush and get shy... but YES it's true.! I mean with an 11.5 dick I have been doing it for a while, it came with time. I didn't just wake up and give myself head. LOL.
Dunkin: What advice would you give other dancers to help them succeed?
Redickulous: Don't let anyone tell you that you can't make it even if you are lacking something that other have, just work hard in all the areas in order to be a success. Take the negative and turn it into motivation to help those who want and seek advice. Make your own style but most importantly, use your popularity to team up with the other organization such as HIV/AIDS Awareness &Outreach, Community Services. Do your part to help change the image of Exotic Dancing from negative to positive by eliminating activities done by those before us. Lastly, never let anyone tell you that you can't be a stripper and have GOD in your life because without without him you have no life.
Dunkin: What has been the funniest thing that has happened to you while dancing?
Redickulous: When people literally try to put their mouth on my "pokey" while I'm performing without asking .
Dunkin: How are you able to stay hard throughout the whole performance?
Redickulous: It's a pain but you have to get use to; I use a silicon cock ring and for those who like to pull it to see if it's real, it is so. So please stop pulling like you lost your minds because it hurts LOL.
Dunkin: Is there anything you would like to say to the readers of Dunkins Playground?
Redickulous: Yes, there is something... please understand that there is more to exotic dancing than just getting on the stage and taking your clothes of. It's a lot of work to make a show successful ( I.e. promoting yourself, negotiating booking deals, networking, training, traveling, time, getting costumes made, getting music professionally mixed and purchasing standard items.) So if you can , top the dancers. Yes most of us have booking fees but just like the impersonators we like to feel appreciated and when you tip, the better we perform and if you don't have money; it doesn't take much to clap or the least you can do is approach a dancer and let them know you enjoyed their show. For those who want to book dancers please never settle for less because it hurts those who work hard at it and words of advice; you get what you pay for , so if you want a cheap dancer then you are liable to have a cheap show.
Dunkin: How can your fans get in contact with you?
