Adult Entertainment is a part of life... it's not my life: The Remy Mars Interview

Normally, I try to interview adult entertainers that I feel have made a significant contribution to the porn industry and who I think will be interesting enough to have a conversation with; this was the case with Remy Mars. I've been wanting to have Remy Mars on Dunkin's Playground for a while now and I finally got my chance. Remy Mars is what we call a veteran in the gay porn industry, well the gay urban porn industry ( even though I do believe some of the mainstream studios know who he is as well). I consider him a legend in the making as well as a household name. If your gay and don't know who Remy Mars is, I do believe you've been living under a rock. He one of those versatile performers that can give the audience a stellar performance as both a top and a bottom. Being in the industry for about 5 years now and having over 68 titles under his belt, Remy Mars is here to stay. I hope you enjoy the interview below and find a way to feel a little closer to Mr. Mars, an extraterrestrial who is out of this world.


Dunkin: Who is Remy Mars? and how is he different from Jeremy?

Remy: It's just a separation of the I.D. ( Inner Desires) from the Ego. Um.. Remy is my free spirited nature, the wild child sort of speak. Remy's more sexually explicit; where in my private life as Jeremy, I'm more conservative, laid back and closed off from dates and sex. Many believe that as an adult entertainer we live these highly sexually promiscuous lives on the outside, when really that's not the case at all. Least not for me...many forget that Remy Mars is just a character, it's Jeremy that's worth knowing. Slowly but surely, you soon will.


Dunkin: So take me back to when you first started doing porn, how did it happen? What made you decide to get into industry and once you did it, did you have any regrets?
Remy: LOL, I feel like I've told this story a million times, but this is for the press! I would say that after my 18th birthday when I was finally coming into my homosexuality and finding my independence from my family. Long story short, this friend I had that lived in N.C. had just put me onto Adam4Adam ( A4A) and at the same time I was doing some underground modeling for this under developed urban clothing company. Any who, Peanut Untouchable had hit me up on A4A about doing some work for his company Freakdorm. We talked on and off for some weeks, until I think about late May of 06 I finally agreed to shoot a scene. My first shoot was with Pinky Untouchable for "Oh So Freaky" and it's history from there. I can't say I have any regrets...Choices that I make for myself are almost to never knee jerk and I always weight out the risk, exposures and harms it could do to me. I've always had an admiration towards the adult industry and the art of it. The human body is beautiful as is..and merged with another is magic. The chemistry and passion you could muster with two individuals..two strangers. It's uncanny. All in all, I was 18 ..Tired of working these slow run of the mill jobs and was looking for my independence ...my mark! Hell, some adventure! Being an adult entertainer is just one of the many chapters to my story, but it's not who I am.

Dunkin: As a performer what makes you different from the other bottoms like Shorty J and T. Malone as well as other versatile porn stars?
Remy: I like to believe that I bring you into the action...almost like a siren seducing a sailor at sea. I like to believe that my fans can feel the heat. The passionate convergence of emotion and lust. I like to make it entertaining, but keeping it honest. Shorty J, T.Malone just to name a few are brilliant entertainers at what they do and know what their fans want to see them do. I feel like I deliver the same...I had an idea of the persona I wanted to portray and the type of character I wanted to develop. I think I've done a pretty good job thus far creating that entity. There will only be one Remy Mars...hands down!

Dunkin: You've been in the industry for about 5 years and have worked for numerous studios who have been some of your favorite studios and why?
Remy: I can't say that I have a favorite, but those whom I enjoy working with and will forever work with as long as I'm front of the camera are ; Black Rayne and Chocolate Cream. I respect and love both of these men, Que Santiago and Marvin Jones both professionally and personally. I believe that as a model you not only create a chemistry with the model you're filming with, but also  with the producer and/or videographer. Either I'm with Marvin or I'm with Que, always a good time and easy work load. They're just really great people so FUCK ALL THE HATERS & LAW SUITORS!


Dunkin: I know you've been on numerous DVD box covers, but how did it when "There's Something About Remy" was produced being that it was a DVD dedicated to you?
Remy: Actually, "There's Something About Remy" with Peanut Untouchable's Hott Shyt line was my second dedicated release. "You Know What I Did Last Summer" with Chocolate Cream was my firstborn. Either or, both experiences were great, especially considering I was still fairly new into the game.I had a lot of fun and still being that I was new, both Marvin and Peanut allowed me to share my input with the direction of the film. I've always pushed myself as a model to not only be a cute face...but have a voice. A business savvy mentality. Learn the ropes! Listen . All paid off. I think that both DVDs made a huge statement as far as where I was going in my adult career.

Dunkin: You've been featured in various types of scenes ranging from solos, to group scenes , but which scenes do you prefer and why?
Remy: Once again, I can't say that I have a favorite because I think Remy Mars love them all and more the merrier. A good shoot usually depends on the model I'm working with. I can't stand the rude DIVA types, EGOTISTICAL newcomers and TARDINESS!! Happily to say though, other than some tardy ones, I have a pretty good relationship whose those I've worked with. Although, for the record I have yet to film a gang bang, but there's logical math behind why that hasn't happened yet. Not to spill any T...but The Fat Lady hasn't sang yet. And with Remy Mars, it's gonna have to be the gang bang of all gang bangs, ha ha...

Dunkin: HIV/AIDS is a huge epidemic in society and of course the African American community, but bareback sex seems to be on the rise, in your opinion why is that? Do you think society as a whole are risk takers?

Remy: In my opinion, for the viewers bareback sex is the escape from reality. The raw effect! As a performer or someone in the spotlight of any profession, you want to keep giving that "WOW"..."OMG" factor! The Condom Vs. Raw epidemic has really become a major issue in the Adult Urban Gay Industry, especially amongst the models. The rumors and judgments passed.. it's just all become to chaotic if you ask me. I'm not saying I have raw sex on camera for the approval of some audience, but being a TOP performer in this industry and wanting to try different avenues to get my persona recognized by the west coast "White" lucrative companies, I have explored off into the Raw line of adult entertainment, but I know my limits and when too much is enough. Models don't even film as often as many believe. Just stocked footage for future release. It is simple human nature to take chances. To ride the edge and see what happens, but we also must be ready to deal with the consequences and accept the responsibilities. A gamble is a gamble, but nothing comes without sacrifice. Whether it's sex, money, love or success...until you take your last breath, we will continue to try our hands at some dice. Sometimes for the best, sometimes for the worse, but it's what you make of it that counts the most.


Dunkin: As a porn star, you have made the transition from bottom to verse ( I happen to like you as both) and from condom to raw, which position and genre of porn do you prefer?
Remy: I'm a freak and I happen to like, as well as be good at sex. I tend not to label myself. I've been blessed with both front and back so why not put both to use? I bottom more on camera because bottoms get paid more. I could have started the industry as a TOP and have made just the same amount of success, but viewers are use to seeing Remy Mars as a BOTTOM, it's where the infatuation begun. Seeing me now TOPPING just adds or is negligible to the appeal. Some like me topping, most like bottoming and a nice group just likes to see my little ass get it in no matter what position I'm playing, LOL. Personally, I'm more into oral or me topping. As I get older, I find myself bottoming less but ever now and again I'll get that urge in the loins.

Dunkin: Back to the raw subject, do you feel as if your as a porn star is to educate yourself on the risk of doing what you do to your fans?
Remy: I don't believe it's my duty, but I do like to put out there , that yes, I do perform RAW sex on camera, but that doesn't mean I ignore the duties to keep myself clean, healthy and aware. Knowledge is a stranger to no one. After any RAW activities, I am in the clinic or meeting with my physician. I keep a regular check up every 2 -3 months just to ensure that I am healthy not only for myself, but for the performers I work with. This isn't addressed to just adult models though, but to anyone having unprotected sex. A dead person is an uneducated person. HIV isn't a death sentence, it's a life transition. I encourage all to get tested...whether you play raw or safe!. Just because you wear a condom, doesn't mean you're no longer at risk. The only fro sure safe way is abstinence! As a community let's not shun or degrade those HIV/AIDS infected, but LOOK at the person..LISTEN to their stories...LEARN ways to help. Raising the red flag against HIV/AIDS and showing our brothers and sisters, they're still with us.


Dunkin: In a scene, where is your place to bust a nut?
Remy: If' I'm playing TOP, I like to give facials and have them "Pretty Boys" clean off my dick. I'f I'm BOTTOMING...Hmm ..Where ever you like your cream, daddy!

Dunkin: Do you still masturbate?

Dunkin: Do you find it hard to get into a relationship because you are a porn star? I know a lot of people have negative connotations about porn stars?
Remy: Not Really...guys tend to fall for my personality. They don't see or rather, can look pass me as a porn star when they're with me. Honestly, I hardly date now because I'm more focused on the development and success of Jeremy. I feel relationships can cause you to lose sight of yourself an of your goals and dreams when entered unprepared or with doubt. I recently just closed the chapter to an on & off 4 year relationship with another popularly known adult star 8 months ago...since then a relationship and love have just been put on the very back of my mind. I date here and there , but nothing deep thus far. I find that when people want to meet me, or when they simply encounter me through oblivious interaction, they catch a sense that there is something within me worth getting to know. An adult entertainer is just a part of my life, but it's not my life.

Dunkin: Is there any particular project or scene you've enjoyed working on the most?
Remy: I'm actually in the talks with Black Rayne Productions on some stuff for this new year, so I'm very much stoked about that. Possible new official website and long awaited production line of my own. Umm..I've recently reunited with Chocolate Cream this year after a nearly 3 year break and I'm more than anticipating the magic we'll make this year if be it. Just change. More so, this year, I'm in my Sophomore term of school and I'm just keeping focus on the longevity of my success. This is only but a glimpse of what I've got planned. I will never claim any of my work to be my favorite, for it's the past and I'm always looking to do better than what I've done.

Dunkin: Within the industry, is there any aspect of aspects that you do not enjoy?
Remy: Club Promos! Don't get me wrong, I love meeting my fans and I do enjoy myself when there, but I'm never the first one to jump for a club. I just don't really like the club scene... crowded hot and some radio favorites, I'm ready to go . I could rather go without them. Not much of a club goer in my private life so it's an honest hatred. 


Dunkin: What was the funnies thing that ever happened to you on set?
Remy: LOL Paris is going to love me for this..S/O to PARIS aka SEDUCTION! It was a model's weekend in NY for ThugOverload...S/O to crude ass LEO!!! It wasn't just one thing that happened, but that entire weekend was HIL-LARRY! In the words of ENIGMA..." This nigga Remy comes here all the way from Philly, gets a new Beijing to get SHITTED ON by a D.C. queen! Shitterella Has to GO!" LMAO!!! That weekend nearly did me in..THE DUNGEON was the T! Dunkin: How does it feel knowing that guys and some girls ( I know LOL ) are getting off to your work?
Remy: "They love me! They really love me!


Dunkin: Any advice you've been given by other models that have helped you succeed?
Remy: When I was first stepping out in the industry, a big motivator that really keep me in order and ground is dedicated to, Larry Williams of B.C. Production/ Chocolate Cream. Larry just recently passed a few weeks and his lost touched me deep. He was someone whom was and will always remain dear to my heart. My prayer continues to go out to his family, friends and colleagues...forever young! Another person dear to me, who also I owe great if not the most appreciation to is Peanut Untouchable. He's always been a good friend and someone who's always wanted to see me flourish in this industry and in whatever I do. Love ya, Skillz! Forever your MJ... MUAH!

Dunkin: Ok, I am going to put you on the spot now, best top? and best bottom? as well as the best studio in the industry and why?
Remy: Ehh..LOL I was never good at calling favorites... but there are several. I can't call a best top because there are versatile performers like HOTROD to name one that have extraordinary skills no matter the position. But those who get me off...CUBAN MICHAELS, DREAM, MR. MARKY and my husband in my head, BREION"ALWAYS & FOREVER" DIAMOND- The Original King Crowned Top! And Best Bottom? Remy: My blog is just a collection of my work. My random body of thoughts and tales. Sometimes you'll see Remy and sometimes you'll see a shimmer of Jeremy. The intent of my blog was never for publicity or promotional purposes.. or to see how many page views my view counter goes up a day..It's just me..different sides, different shades, different colors.

Dunkin: What's next for you Mr. Mars?
Remy: An Empire...Enough said! Skies the limit, so just stay tuned. The day I take my last breath and the angels come to summon me home, I want my fans to remember me as an ICON.
