Recently, I had a chance to speak with Jay Scorpio; an Urban gay porn performer. I wanted to speak with Jay because I've always been a fan of his work. The playground wanted to speak with him because he has had longevity in the industry. Appearing in over 27 different films as well as landing the coveted "Black Inches" Magazine cover for June 2009. I think Jay Scorpio has proven why he is a force to be reckoned with.

Dunkin: Who is "Jay Scorpio" and how did you come up with your stage name?
Jay: I'd have to say Jay Scorpio is a strong, fearless freak who loves to travel and enjoy the best of the boys each country has to offer. LOL. Outgoing, passionate and driven to be successful at whatever he puts his mind to. My name is Jamel, that's where the Jay comes from and I'm a die hard fan of scorpions and my birth sign thus always thought of myself as the "scorpion king". So that's how the stage name came about.
Dunkin: What made you get into the urban gay film industry?
Jay: Well it all came about when i approached by a scout from http://www.blackmen.net/ was trying to convince me I'd be a hit as a porn star. I was a fashion model at the time so I gave it some thought and decided to give it a shot. That was back in 2004 and here I am going strong 6 years later.
Dunkin: What was your 1st day on the porn set like? Were you nervous? Or did it come second nature to you?
Jay: Second nature!??? LOL Hell no, it was a nerve racking experience. I must say I'm a freak in the sheets but transitioning that to the camera was a little harder than expected. But my co-stars made it all the more enticing as they were the famous twins Keyon and Teyon.
Dunkin: What has to be the funniest thing that has happened to you on set?
Jay: I would have to say shooting a scene in front of an entire crowd in this club in Toronto. I just busted out when the director told me that was happening. LMAO
Dunkin: I've noticed you've been out of the porn loop for a while now, is there any particular reason why?
Jay: Well I always like to take a break for the scene to allow the fans to miss me. I don't want to burn myself out and over saturate the film scene.
Dunkin: You've done films with various studios, which studio sticks out the most and why?
Jay: Well there was a really memorable experience with Dark Alley Media. Arrived on set and the whole concept was surrounding crude oil, so we thought this guy was taking all these dicks with crude oil. Turns out it was corn syrup with food dyes. LOL
Dunkin: Who has been your favorite performer to work with?
Jay: Would have to say T-Malone. He is just so easy to communicate with and we have that great vibe on set. Not to mention I love that PHAT back on him.
Dunkin: What is your opinion on bareback porn?
Jay: It's risky business, but I'm sure every freak likes to take risks in the name of pleasure. Afterall, any great man will tell you " without risks the world would not be where it is today".
Dunkin: What do you enjoy most about starring in a porn scene?
Jay: On set or off set I enjoy knowing that my partner/co-star is satisfied.
Dunkin: If you had to choose your ideal scene partner or partners who would it be?
Jay: Hmm I love them group sessions so here goes..... Hotrod, Angyl, Maseo, Castro, Dawson, Kid Chocolate, Jeff Palmer, Slim Thug, Kamrun and Rasta Man.
Dunkin: How did the black inches cover come about? Do you feel as if that was your claim to fame?
Jay: Well it was a long time coming I would have to say as they initially wanted me on the cover since 2006 but I felt I wasn't ready for such exposure and had declined. The opportunity presented itself once again while working with Real Urban Men in 2009 and I finally agreed to take the cover. It was definitely an honor to be on the cover of the biggest black adult publication.
Dunkin: How big are you below the waist?
Jay: Plenty of measurements have been floating around but I'm an average 9.5 x 5 the camera just loves me. LOL

Jay: Can't say I had a mentor, but I always enjoyed watching porn with Randy Cochran and I had the pleasure of meeting him in 2008.
Dunkin: What do you do in your spare time? Hobbies?
Jay: Enjoy reading and running track, keeps the mind and body sharp.
Dunkin: What other big things do you have in the works? Any secrets you care to tell?
Jay: 2010 saw no activity from me, but I can say 2011 will be a busy for Jay Scorpio so stay tuned.
